Rising Share of Americans See Conflict Between Rich and Poor

Public Perceptions of Conflict Between Rich and Poor

Q: In America how much conflict is there between poor people and rich people?A new Pew Research Center survey, Rising Share of Americans See Conflict Between Rich and Poor, “of 2,048 adults finds that about two-thirds of the public (66%) believes there are “very strong” or “strong” conflicts between the rich and the poor—an increase of 19 percentage points since 2009.”

As you read the report, remember that this conflict can often cause a barrier not only between low-income Community Action clients but between non-profits and their potential donors and their volunteers!

One important way to overcome this barrier is through framing your message! Tips on how to frame an inclusive message can be found in NASCSP’s Storytelling Manual and Storytelling Brochure!
